Manny “Saku” Chorens

Instructor/coach Manny “Saku” Chorens started training in Jiu-Jitsu and MMA back in 2009 but got introduced in the essence of martial arts at the age of 6 with the help of his father who is a USMC vet. Saku started training in Jiu-Jitsu at Carlson Gracie Miami under professor Michel “Buiu” Porifirio and John Rickling “JP”. He didn’t only learn the martial arts but also the mental aspects of
it and how it can change a person’s life.

Manny’s love and passion started to begin when he let go of school to do what he loved to do the most which is train, help JP and Michel with teaching other pupils, and to compete in the martial arts.

Manny started to compete in MMA when his other life goals didn’t go as planned. Manny has been competing in MMA as early of 2012, where he’s gotten influenced to stay competing by his mentors and has been in love with it ever since.

Biography:

Manny's background has a lot to do with the Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). Which has to do with the boxing style, Muay Thai, Wrestling, and Jiu-Jitsu. Manny still does train with his MMA team "FreedomfightersMMA/AmericanTopTeam West Kendall" under his MMA coach Manolo Lopez who has an unlimited amount of pro and amateur MMA Fighters.

We use MMA to let go of our daily stresses we may go through our daily lives and use it as an outlet.
MMA gives us positive benefits such as training ourselves to defend ourselves and others, being free of ego in a very friendly environment.

We teach Jiu-jitsu for adults, teens, and children to defend themselves against stronger and larger attackers. We use the philosophies, moral codes, and the Art of Jiu-jitsu as a guide to direct the youth down an honorable path.
